Heschung: French Shoemaking Since 1934

Heschung was founded by Eugène Heschung in Steinbourg, Alsace, in 1934. The workshop began with work shoes and hiking boots, shaped in part by the nearby Vosges Mountains and the need for durable footwear.

Norwegian and Goodyear welt construction remain central to the brand, together with sturdy leathers and practical soles. This combination gives Heschung its recognizable balance of traditional French shoemaking and footwear made for regular wear.

Heschung’s character comes from carrying that functional background into footwear that also works well in the city. The result is distinctly French: practical, strongly constructed and recognizable, with durability and traditional shoemaking playing a larger role than decorative detail or short-lived trends.
