Heschung is a family shoemaker founded by Eugène Heschung in Steinbourg, northern Alsace, in 1934. The original workshop produced robust work shoes and hiking boots using traditional Norwegian and Goodyear welt construction, techniques that remain central to the identity of the brand.
The company’s development was closely connected to the landscape and climate of the nearby Vosges Mountains. During the middle of the twentieth century, Heschung applied its construction expertise to leather ski boots, strengthening its reputation for footwear designed to withstand demanding conditions. Norwegian welt construction is one of Heschung’s most recognizable characteristics.
